A list of terms used in alternate history writings;
- Alternate History- Also althistory, is a literary term in which the author speculates a change in the past that openly affects the present. A fiction alternate history occurs when the author has changed the past of a fictional story or characters.
- Alien Space Bats- A humours explanation for a for an implausible point of divergence.
- ATL- Abbreviation for Alternate Time Line, the history that occurs in the alternate history.
- Butterfly Effect- The hypothesis that defines a small event causing a greater event given enough time.
- OTL- Abbreviation for Our Time Line, the history that occurs in our history.
- POD- Abbreviation for Point Of Divergence or Point Of Departure, the point in which an alternate history diverges from our own timeline into its own.
